Google announced new AI-powered features enhancing business communication and search experience for U.S. users. These include agentic AI calls, Gemini 2.5 Pro integration in AI Mode, and advanced Deep Search capabilities for subscribers.
AI Calls Revolutionize Business Contact
Google’s new AI Calls feature automates calling local businesses to check pricing and availability based on user requests. When searching services like “pet groomers near me,” users can select “Have AI check pricing” to let Google’s system call multiple businesses and consolidate their responses. Every call starts by announcing it’s an automated system from Google to maintain transparency.
Businesses can opt out via their Business Profile settings. Originally piloted as “Ask For Me” early 2025 for select industries, AI Calls builds on Google Duplex technology and is now available to all U.S. users, with increased call limits for Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers.
Gemini 2.5 Pro Powers Smarter Search
The AI Mode in Google Search now offers Gemini 2.5 Pro exclusively to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, excelling in tasks requiring complex reasoning, math, and coding. Users can select this advanced model for detailed answers with citations from trusted sources. The default Gemini model remains for everyday questions.
This model fuels Google’s new “Deep Search” feature, described as the company’s most advanced research tool.

Powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro, Deep Search automates extensive web browsing and generates comprehensive, citation-backed reports within minutes. It builds a personalized research plan, executes hundreds of searches, and reasons through findings to provide actionable results. An Audio Overview option further streamlines information consumption.
Google compares Gemini 2.5 Pro’s Deep Search favorably against competitors, noting superior user preference in instruction clarity, comprehensiveness, completeness, and writing quality.
Available to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, Deep Search suits professional analysis, study, and major life decision research.
